with Jimmy



Jimmy is a Gwitch'en fiddler who lights up any instrument that comes his way.

Uncle Jimmy had a real heyday in the 70s and 80s and now comes at music with pure joy and a desire to share his culture and country tunes with young and old.

The Hammerstones Band
The Hammerstones backing band has had a few incarnations. They've stayed steady for the last 4 years since Indigenous Day held at the Danoja Zho Cultural Centre.

Peter Menzies loves to MC and tell stories up front with Jimmy.
​Peter, Jimmy, & guests trade off on vocals, fiddle and guitar.

North Klondike Music Society
​Dawson Youth Fiddlers 

Peter Menzies, the Youth Fiddle Club & the Klondike Fiddle Association work with Youth Fiddlers based out of Dawson City, and include Old Crow, Mayo, and other Yukon communities. Regular guest instructors and collaborators come up to Dawson City for workshops.
Uncle Jimmy and the Hammerstones is a regular backing band for this Youth Fiddle club, and members play with and teach the youth so that they have the experience and performing live with a full band.
